They also have 18-year-old Max Meyer on their books, but their latest talent - 17-year-old Donis Avdijaj - is now being linked with Liverpool. Here's a brief player report on him.

Dubbed the new Mesut Ozil by many, Avdijaj is a player who operates as a forward and has scored a near impossible amount of goals in the Schalke youth sides. In his last 53 games for the under 17 side he has netted on 59 occasions.

History

Still only 17, the teen is a player who is expected to have a huge future. As we mentioned in the intro Schalke have already made stars of the likes of Lewis Holtby, Julian Draxler and Max Meyer, but this player is meant to hold the potential to stump them all.

This Season

Although he hasn't been involved with the first team yet he can't be too far away. He has matured physically and is showing a huge amount of progression in the youth ranks. In fact, he is so talented that the German club have inserted a £41 million buy-out clause into his contract.

Verdict

Of course Liverpool want the best players at their club and it's even more important to them, I expect, that they have a huge pool of young talent to come through into the first team. Whether or not they would be willing to splash that amount of money is unknown, but it'd be an exciting prospect.
