Childish: Why Mourinho's Dig At Wenger Makes Him Look Bad

Before he arrived back in the Premier League, Jose Mourinho was one of my favourite people in sport. He carried a genuine swagger around on his shoulders and could shut opponents up with a stare, a couple of words of wisdom or simply a gesture. Although I found him a bit overwhelming during his first stint as Chelsea boss he had won me round with his apparent charm - now though, I remember why I disliked him so much.

The Portuguese coach isn't one to mince his words, which is fair enough, and I even admire the way he sees his players as far superior to anyone else's. What I don't like about him though, in fact it frustrates me hugely, is the way he looks down on other bodies in the sport who have accomplished something.

Arsene Wenger is a manager who has been in charge of Arsenal for over 17 years now and has turned them into one of the most silky football teams in the country. Yet Mourinho has come out and publicly labelled him a specialist in failure.

This is a man who has won four Community Shields, four FA Cups and three Premier League trophies, as well as securing them as European contenders pretty much every year.

Mourinho may have succeeded more than him in a shorter space, but by no means does that make Wenger a failure.

For me I think the comments make Mourinho look like a bit of a child, and although they could just be words to wind the Frenchman up, I think it's the Chelsea boss who comes out looking the worse.

I beg to differ mate...We should take a closer look at our Manager and ask him why he has being a failure for 9 yrs....Please don't tell me he built a stadium for us because the price to see our team play is the costliest in world football.
His job is to win trophies and not save money for the club. 3league titles, 4 fa cups and 4 community shield in 16 years is a failure mate by his standards...Is going to be a decade of failure if Liverpool kick us out on sunday and is looking very likely on the evidence of wednesday's game.

his bullshits are due to the fact that he is given trophies, he never created them. mind you, if those 8 years he chorusing everyday were under him with no millions of signings then it would potentially deleted Arsenal in the PL . He wins trophies.. yes, but he wins them in such a way every stupid person with no intelligent can. Wenger cannot stands to that quality, he is intelligent and above all a really man. How many players has Mourinho developed? His idea of success is to ride on the back of huge cash injected into clubs by billionaire owners. It is unfortunate that in this day and age, characters such as Mourinho are labelled 'successful'. He should swallow his arrogance for once!

Liverpool fan here, I find it hugely insulting to a guy that can make a team play such stylish football from one that achieves his success through a functional boring side which costs more than his rivals
Now that City come with their money he criticises them but how did he win his first trophies - by outspending others - feckin hypocrite

He knows he has to play prettier football but tries to lower his rivals than build up his style - he cant compete with Wenger on coachingso dicredits him

He acheive is success by money to buy the best plays and machiavellian machinations

He's now moaning about Liverpool's advantage of playing less games but Liverpool haven't had CL so cant pay for or attract the players that Chelsea buy so other's cant - so instead of a fair fight against a team with 1 world class players and teenagers he dicredits them

How about he shut his mouth and just try to play football as others do

Morin-ho's comments show a manager who is afraid of failure now that he is at the top f the league. I would rather think that he should have respect for others in the sport since he only has inherited clubs with mega financial resources.I dont think mo can even succeed at a club like stoke(with due respect) with average players and resources. he is Portuguese and as they say he always learns nothing and forgets nothing.

I think that the best answer to a fool like Mourinho is silent. As successful as he thinks he is, Real Madrid were chasing after Wenger while he was still their coach & Chelsea will relieve him of his position any day if Wenger declares he wants to leave Arsenal. Real Madrid is now a team to watch since he left. Shouldn't he be ashamed? I rather watch real football than rugby football.
