Giroud Reveals Lloris Would Swap Spurs For Arsenal, But Would He Be A Better Choice Than Szczesny?

As if it hasn't been hard enough for Tottenham fans this season watching their team struggle for periods, sack their manager and watch Arsenal sit at the top of the Premier League, their goalkeeper is now apparently hinting at a move to their bitter rivals could be on his mind. Nothing is official of course, but it appears that the French goalkeeper has told his compatriots Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny that he'd be happy to make the switch across the capital.

"We go out together and talk about everything,’ Giroud told a French television station. We talk about life and sometimes the French team a bit and our wish to have a great experience together at the World Cup.

"Have I asked him to join Arsenal? Yes, I have with Lolo [Laurent Koscielny]. He would have liked to, he would quite like to. You will have to ask him the question."

The comments got me thinking whether or not he would be an improvement on Wojciech Szczesny, and I think that he probably would considering the current Arsenal backline.

    Hear me out.

Szczesny is a keeper who has a strong command of his area and high organisational skills, but he's not the quickest off his line. That has proved a problem on occasions as Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny are quite slow.

Lloris on the other hand usually sits on the edge of his box and is alert to pounce and any stray balls and is comfortable of his feet, but is also strong in his shot-stopping.

I don't think the two would be at the same club as they are both very strong players, and if I had to choose one it'd probably be Lloris.

    Gooners, who would you choose?

No chance....we'll stick with the "pole in goal" thanks!

we nid a striker giroud not you

i think it shows how much confidence his fellow team members have in their goalie when they start to try to chat up their biggest rivals keeper.

    No he didn't.
he revealed that at some previous occasion Lloris said he would be happy to join Arsenal. That is different to Lloris saying he would be happy to swap Arsenal for Spurs. The most likely interpretation is that he is referring to a period before Lloris joined spurs and not after.

Oh, and to the Arsenal fans above - yes, Lloris would replace Chesny.
