32 Key Passes, 8 Goals: Why Manchester United Should Look To Make This Midfielder Their First Signing Of The Year

We are already a quarter of the way through the January transfer window and it has been understandably quiet. The fixtures continue though and I think we can expect the activity to now pick up. One side who stand out to me in terms of needing some signings is Manchester United, who are suffering this season. The blatant hole in their side is in midfield, so I think this man should be their first signing of the transfer window.

Arturo Vidal has had a brilliant year. The Juventus midfielder has upstaged his two midfield companions Paul Pogba and Andrea Pirlo, and you know when that happens you must be doing something right.

He is a box to box player who loves to dispossess his opponents but he is also comfortable on the ball. He has made 34 key passes this season and completed 83% of his passes in general, but he's also scored eight goals, which is a huge number for a player of his position and is a big reason why he's so fancied.

He's completed 57 of his 96 tackles and half of his take ons, and is exactly what Manchester United need to add some balance and intent into the side. Will they move for him? I have no idea, but I think he should be their first signing of the new year.
