Who Is Really To Blame For Manchester United's Poor Season?

Manchester United have now lost three games in a row for the first time since 2001 after their 2-1 defeat to Sunderland yesterday. It was also the third consecutive game in which they lost by that scoreline, and they have also lost four of their last six at home. It's panic stations up at Old Trafford, but who is to black for the mess?

Firstly, Sir Alex Ferguson has to take some blame. Not only did he leave David Moyes a very average-looking squad of players, but he was also the one that gave the nod for the former Everton boss' appointment. With players like Tom Cleverley, Anderson and Ashley Young in the side when he took over, Moyes was always going to struggle.

Moyes has to take some blame as well though. The Scot seems to have turned a bunch of lions into a pack of poodles, and every game they go into they look frightened to attack. We are used to seeing United ripping side apart, but Moyes has stripped them of that confidence. He has yet to build his own squad of course, which brings us onto the players.

They all have to shoulder some blame for their position. The manager can only do so much, it is up to the players as soon as the game kicks off. Players like Marouane Fellaini and Javier Hernandez have failed to live up to their billing, while injuries have hampered the form of Robin van Persie.

Blame also has to go to the board for making so many changes at once. As if the change of Fergie wasn't enough, Ed Woodward also took over from David Gill as Chief Executive, and Moyes brought in all his own backroom staff.

Who is to blame for the wobble that United are currently going through? All of the above.
