9 Goals, 5 Assists: Arsenal Favourite To Sign La Liga Striker - Player Report

Despite Arsenal being top of the Premier League right now, with Nicklas Bentdner and Theo Walcott now injured, Arsenal could do with an extra striker coming in this month. Olivier Giroud is currently the only centre-forward available for selection, though Lukas Podolski has returned from injury and is able to play up front. It seems likely that Arsene Wenger will move for a forward, and according to odds at Sky Bet, the Gunners are favourites to land Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. The Real Madrid has had a mixed bag this season, so let's have a look at what he could offer the north London outfit.

The France international is a poacher. He likes to play off defenders and work space for himself, but isn't one to run himself into the ground. He's an athletic player who is capable in the air, but he's also nippy on his feet and has good ball control.

He has played 17 games in La Liga for Real Madrid and scored nine goals, but he has already made 28 key passes which includes five assist.

He has a 50% shot accuracy, a 24% conversion rate and has completed 81% of his passes. He is a streaky player who has suffered a loss of confidence at times, but should Arsenal bring him into the Emirates then that can be worked on.
