Why Chelsea Should Replace Terry With Ligue 1 Star

It seems as though John Terry will be playing his final season in a Chelsea shirt this time round, as the Mirror report that the 'captain, leader, legend' has not been offered a new long-term deal and is resigned to leaving. It's undoubtedly bad news for the club, as they lose a defensive rock and the fans lose a firm favourite, but he's not getting any younger and they need to start thinking about the future. This is where this man comes in  - Kurt Zouma.

At 19, you may think he lacks the necessary experience to come in and make an impact in the Premier League, but he has already played 51 league games for Ligue 1 outfit Saint Etienne, as well as playing his part in them winning the French League Cup last season.

He's a real unit of a player who holds a physique that makes it near-impossible to get round. He's a domineering player in the air but is also notably fleet-footed, which makes him the perfect acquisition for a club like Chelsea.

He's strong in the tackle but is also impressive with his passing, which fits Jose Mouirnho's needs, and he is also willing to throw himself in the way of the ball, which is something Terry has made himself famous for.

The France U21 is perfect for the Blues, in my eyes, and should be Terry's natural replacement should he leave.
