A Closer Look At How Danny Welbeck Ripped Swansea Apart

To describe Danny Welbeck as efficient last season would have been taken as a joke by some, but this season he has been an incredible asset for Manchester United this season.

The England international now has eight goals in the Premier League - the same amount as Arsenal's Olivier Giroud and the impressive Alvaro Negredo.

He scored the second of United's goal in their 2-0 win over Swansea yesterday, but he also put in a solid performance to help his side win the game.

Welbeck is a strong player who likes to receive the ball to his feet and he has the turn of pace to get in behind the opposition backline. Upon picking up possession he can either knock it short - he completed 32/33 (97%) of his passes yesterday - or he can take players on - he won all three of his dribbles.

He may not be the most clinical but he's certainly improving in that respect and more than makes up for his misses with his defensive efforts. In the game with Swansea Welbeck was in position to make three interceptions and a clearance, and it was a combination of both attack and defence that saw him stand out at Old Trafford.
