Arsenal Could Spend Big In January - 3 Potential Strikers For The Gunners

Although Arsenal unexpectedly splashed out over £40m on Real Madrid playmaker Mesut Ozil on transfer deadline day, The Mirror are reporting that Arsene Wenger will be allowed to make another big money signing when the January window rolls around. With this in mind, here are three strikers that I believe the Gunners should be targeting in the post-Christmas sales.

    1) Luis Suarez

The article in the Mirror actually suggests that Wenger is still keeping an eye on the Suarez situation at Liverpool and is keen to snap the Uruguayan up if possible, although the baggage he brings is seen as some as a major turn off.

Suarez scored 23 goals in his 33 leagues games last season, but is still suspended after biting Branislav Ivanovic.

    2) Robert Lewandowski

The Poland international is out of contract in the summer and has confirmed that he will be on his way when the season comes to a close. Arsenal proved they still have the pulling power with the Ozil deal, so to secure a deal for one of the most natural finishers in Europe for a minimum amount of money seems a no-brainer.

The Borussia Dortmund forward scored 24 goals in 31 games in the Bundesliga last season and already has two in four this.

    3) Javier Hernandez

Chicharito is one of the coolest men on the planet when he has a ball at his feet in front of goal, and in my opinion he is far too talented to be warming the bench. The Mexico international scored 10 goals in 22 games last term for the champions but is behind Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck in the pecking order.

Surely lightning can't strike twice though, can it Arsene?

Rule out Luis Suarez, Liverpool will be above Arsenal in January anyway

Whilst the signing of Mesut Ozil was a sensational piece of businees, not buying a striker was a massive mistake. If Giroud gets injured before Podolski retuns, neither Sanogo or Bendtner are good enough for the Premier League. The ONLY option will be to play Walcott as CF with Arteta, Rosicky or Gnabry out wide.
Of the 3 players listed above, the first is unworthy of wearing the Arsenal shirt, the second is going to Bayern Munich and Man Utd won't sell Chicarito (embarrassing name). Just buy Jackson Martinez from Porto and JOB DONE
