Manchester United Defender Could Leave, But Should Moyes Keep Hold Of Him?

It must be hard being a Premier League footballer. Not only do you get paid incredible amounts of money, but at the first sniff of interest your agent is conjuring up a plan to get you even more money. As if you'd need it. Manchester United's Alex Buttner is apparently fed up of life under David Moyes, after just a few weeks, and could still leave the club, according to talkSPORT. But what exactly does he offer the Red Devils?

Last season he played second fiddle to Patrice Evra, as you'd expect, and played just five games. He did score twice, however, and finished last season with 100% shooting accuracy, an 83% pass completion and made five defensive actions per game, on average.

This summer must have been a hard time for the Dutch defender. David Moyes has reportedly been in for every left-back under the sun while Buttner weeps into his reserves shirt. The Leighton Baines rumours didn't materialise, nor did the swoop for Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao, so is now the time to entrust Buttner with a place in the first team?

Of course, Evra is number one at Old Trafford. However, a bit of healthy competition could be good for the team and may rest the Frenchman's aging legs.

For what it's worth, I think letting him leave the club, even on loan, would be a shame as he hasn't done  a lot wrong since his arrival, and I feel as though Moyes should be trying to persuade him to stay.
