Former Chelsea Midfielder Set To Join La Liga Side

His flowing locks of hair, his weaving dribbles and his innocent approach to the game are just three reasons why the majority of football fans wish nothing but the best for former Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham midfielder Yossi Benayoun. The Mirror are reporting that the Israel international is set to complete his move to La Liga side Getafe after his release from The Blues in the summer.

Injury has blighted Benayoun's playing career but he has still mustered over 500 first team appearances. He has been shipped across the country, representing the Hammers first, before moving onto Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. He eventually returned to Upton Park on loan, but he didn't have the same effect as when he arrived from Racing de Santander in 2005.

Now it seems as though he is set for a return to the Spanish topflight despite reported heavy interest from the MLS over the last few months.

The 33-year-old made his name in his native with Israeli side Maccabi Haifa before arriving on Spain soil in 2002. Able to play either on the left, right on in a central position, Benayoun is a flexible attacking outlet whose main aim is to create for whoever is roaming in front of him.

Getafe could be picking up a diamond of a player, if he steers clear of injuries, and I for one hope it goes well for him.
