Darlington Nagbe: great name, spectacular goals (Video)

There are many who mock America's soccer league - Major League Soccer, just in case you didn't know - but it is always a fine and reliable source of cracking goals.

Case in point: Portland Timbers (I know, I know) winger Darlington Nagbe only dabbles in the spectacular when it comes to putting the ball in the back of the net.

Certain players have a tendency to do not a whole lot apart from score ridiculously good goals. Nagbe, who is from Liberia, has developed a reputation in the United of States of America for being 'totally amazing at soccer' and some papers in Portland have even said that his goals are so good that they could 'almost make you like this sport'.

Nagbe, who was named Darlington after the British town in which he was conceived, has lived in America since the age of 11. His university career was littered with individual achievements and the Portland Timbers were alert to the young man's talent, making him their selection in the MLS Superdraft.

The 23-year-old has shown some early promise in his first two seasons with the Timbers, scoring 14 goals in 82 appearances. Not an incredible return but there is room for improvement and his goals keep the fans coming which is important for American soccer franchises.

Anyway, enough talk, let's take a look at what ol' Darlington is all about with this effort that turned out to MLS's 2011 goal of the season. For some additional viewing, watch the goal he scored against FC Dallas last month.
