Would Torres Departure Confirm Mourinho's Chelsea Intentions?

Jose Mourinho is back at Chelsea, but he looks to be doing things slightly differently from last time. His choice to structure his team without a recognised striker against Manchester United this week had fans pondering about how the Portuguese is stamping his authority back on Stamford Bridge.

Imagine if Rafa Benitez had alienated Juan Mata from the squad - the player who scored 20 goals last season and claimed their Player of the Year accolade. Imagine the stick he'd receive!

But what is really striking, is the strive for quality attacking midfielders that Mourinho is apparently after.

As well as Mata, the Blues now have Eden Hazard, Oscar, Victor Moses, Andre Schurrle, Kevin de Bruyne, Maro van Ginkel, Frank Lampard, Willian and are on the verge of completing a deal for Christian Atsu, apparently.

The Special One has also re-shuffled his strikers, as Demba Ba is reportedly in talks with Newcastle about a return to St James' Park. Samuel Eto'o has supposedly agreed a deal to move to west London and Romelu Lukaku is also playing a part after returning from his loan stint at West Brom, but the Mirror are now reporting that Fernando Torres may be available to leave the club.

Torres has struggled to live up to his £50m price tag and is in need of a kick up the backside to get him firing again, and Morinho doesn't seem to be interested in doing so, and would rather ship him out.

The departure of the Spain international would really light discussion regarding Mourinho's approach, as he has formerly been renowned for his defensive desires in a game. We all know that he's not shy and that he likes to mark his territory, and getting rid of Roman Abramovich's golden boy may just be a reminder to the Premier League that he is in charge.

The Special One? The Happy One? The Attacking One?
