3 Reasons Why Gareth Bale's Potential Move To Real Madrid May Not Be A Success

It is now widely expected that Tottenham star Gareth Bale will make his big-money move to La Liga giants Real Madrid this week, but is it a good move for the 23-year-old? Here are three reason why I think that the move may not work.

    1) Too many cooks

In the past, flicking through a Real Madrid squad sheet was like looking at a fantasy team, with stars plastered up and down every position. And although Los Blancos have been quiet on the European stage over the past few years, the quality in the ranks is instantly visible.

The likes of Mesut Ozil, Isco, Luka Modric and a little fellow named Cristiano Ronaldo all patrol the attacking midfield berths. Angel Di Maria and Kaka are also still on the books, so finding a space for Bale may prove difficult. How will he cope with going from a big fish in a medium sized pond, to becoming a tadpole in an ocean?

    2) Pressure

Following on from that point, moving to the Spanish capital will generate an expectancy level that the Wales international has never experienced before. Playing for Spurs and challenging for a top four spot is worlds apart from turning out for one of the biggest clubs on the planet. The media will also be breathing down his neck.

Will Bale be able to hack it?

    3) Home sweet home

A pundit mentioned on Super Sunday that Bale is a lad who enjoys home comforts, who supposedly enjoys nothing more than a game of FIFA or a family meal. So, how will he settle into a different country, a completely different way of life and integrating into Spanish culture?

Time will tell, I suppose, but I look forward to his first Joey Barton/Steve McClaren-esque interview!
