Have We Seen The Last Of Emmanuel Adebayor In The Premier League?

We have seen the good, the bad and the ugly from Emmanuel Adebayor since he arrived in the Premier League back in 2006. His stunning form at Arsenal alongside Thierry Henry, his infamous celebration at Manchester City and his lackadaisical performances for Spurs.  But with Roberto Soldado coming into White Hart Lane this summer, have we seen the last of the Togo international in England?

His supposed astronomical wages are something which heightened expectations around north London and he hasn't delivered. Although he scored 18 goals in 37 for Spurs in his first season, he hit just eight last term, and his nonchalant ways were not appreciated.

As touched upon, Soldado was drafted in this summer after setting La Liga alight with his 24 goals last season for Valencia. He scored on his debut for Tottenham with a brilliant penalty against Crystal Palace, leaving Adebayor sinking into his hands.

Adebayor does not seem to be one who will stay around and fight for his place. He is now third spot in the pecking order behind the aforementioned Spaniard and Jermain Defoe, who has himself been linked away, and - in my opinion - will be shown the door sooner rather than later.

Spurs fans, what are your thoughts on  the frontman?

if both ade and defoe go who will be back up to soldado? clearly ade would be more suitable to the role, although jermain is a fan's favourite who might be more prepared to be understudy.

get rid asap harry kane better

I think we are stuck with him unfortunately ... at a huge cost of a sub. 170,000 p.w. salary means that he is unlikely to move if a wage cut is involved so he will be hard to sell as unsure they will be any takers at that price based on his paltry goal tally last season. He is more likely to seek a loan move if he is not getting minutes on the field ... especially if Togo is going to the World Cup?

The guy is wasting himself, shame.

Ade was always a bit of a risk - money seems to be his biggest motivation which says it all really.
I think he should go sooner rather than later - for both the club and his own sake
Harry Kane should be given an opportunity to shine
    COYS Forever xxxxx

Can't wait to see him leave. Really do we need him, or Defoe, with Soldado and Lamela on side.
With the rest of our summer activity we are looking strong no matter what!

Both Spurs fans and Ade where happy when he joined us. Now there are no smiling faces around anymore. It will be good for Ade (and good for Spurs) to go separate ways now. Thank you and goodbye Ade.

Spurs can sell Ade. But, put in your mind. You will regret Ade. Soldado is not better than Ade. Wait and see

be careful what you wish for - harry cane has never scored a senior goal as far as I'm aware, I've seen him play for orient and he didn't have much of a goal threat. scoring for the u-21's isn't the same. Ade would be an excellent back up if he wants to stay, it just seems there's always a drama or tragedy in his life, which affects his performance.
