Premier League Preview - Do Hull City Have Enough To Beat The Drop?

Appointing Steve Bruce as manager was probably the club’s new owners best decision to date, as the ex-Manchester United defender has brought resilience to the Tigers and last season gave them the confidence to push for promotion.

They played ugly at times but it got results, with 18 1-0 wins recorded. Bruce’s new signings will bring Hull more strength in defence, but they need a stronger attack in order to survive in the Premier League. Danny Graham and George Boyd have been brought in, but the latter hasn’t played in the Premier League before and some good performances for Peterborough over the past few years do not make him Premier League quality.

Ex-Wigan left back Maynor Figueroa and ex-Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor could prove shrewd moves from Steve Bruce, but the signing of Curtis Davies could prove to be his best signing so far as the 28 year old looks ready to test himself in the top flight once more as he was widely considered one of the best centre backs in the Championship last season.

Hull City will be difficult to beat, but they might find it hard to score as they lack a reliable goal scorer.

    Prediction: 19th.
