    Factfile: 10 facts on potential Arsenal frontman Gonzalo Higuain 

    With Arsenal now supposedly in advanced talks regarding a £22m move for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain, we have rustled up 10 facts on the Argentina hit-man to provide Gunners a glimpse into what the 25-year-old is all about.

    1) Higuain was actually born in France as his father - Argentinean Jorge Higuain - was playing football for Stade Brestois 29 at the time. He holds a French passport despite leaving the country when he was 10 months old and successfully applied for Argentine nationality in 2007.

    2) Higuain progressed through the youth system of River Plate in Argentina and ended with 15 goals and 16 assists in the 41 games he played for the first team.

    3) His form earned attention and a €12m move to Real Madrid would follow, where he would sign a long term deal.

    4) The striker has now played 266 games for the club since his move in 2006 and scored 122 goals for Los Blancos, as well as 46 assists.

    5) Higuain has won three La Liga titles during his time at the club, as well as two Supercopa de Espana and a Copa del Rey.

    6) Higuain is one of only three foreign-born players to play in a World Cup for Argentina, for whom he has now represented on 20 occasions, scoring nine goals.

    7) He has three brothers, Nicolas, Lautaro and Federico, who captains Columbus Crew in the MLS.

    8) Higuain finished as Real Madrid's second top scorer last season (behind Cristiano Ronaldo) with 16 goals in 28 league games.

    9) Higuain's nickname is El Pipita.

    10) Higuain is represented by SentielSport, agents of Gabriel Batistuta who is now retired.
