    Johan Cruyff's swansong (Video)

I bet Ajax felt very silly after not offering the legendary Johan Cruyff a one year contract at the end of his playing career.

Cruyff clearly has a fine sense of humour because after Ajax refused to extend his contract he opted to join the Amsterdam club's fiercest rivals, Feyernood ahead of the 1983-1984 season.

Ajax considered him to be a tad too old at the age of 36 but it is unwise to turn down the sort of once in a generation talent that Cruyff was.

And Ajax discovered this first hand as Cruyff led Feyernood to a first Erevidise in a decade and doubled that success with a KNVB triumph.

For the season, Cruyff scored 13 goals and was voted Player or the Season for the fifth time. In terms of incredible exits from the game Cryuff's swansong is right up there with Zinedine Zidane's pristine headbutt.

The Dutchman was faced with adversity and like all the greats he simply let his feet do the talking. And what feet, too, and even at 34 years old Cruyff was able to make players take a seat with that infamous turn of his.

Sit back, then, and enjoy one of the very best (ever) playing some truly sublime football.
