Arsenal could lose half of first choice back four as they search for silverware - statistics

Arsenal look set to lose two of their frist choice back four as they look to move to clubs who have a chance to win trophies, according to the Mirror. Bacary Sagna appears to be heading to France with either Paris Saint-Germain or Monaco whilst Laurent Koscielny has been linked with the likes of Barcelona.

While Gunners will be understandably upset that players are wanting out of their club because of their lack of silverware, but with the money available to Arsene Wenger this summer it suggests that this is the manager's last chance to win a trophy before he is queueing up at the job centre.

So should Arsenal easily give up the fight to keep the pair?

Sagna has played 25 games this season after returning from injury and has racked up a duel percentage win of 66% which, along with Koscielny and Per Mertesacker is the highest in the backline. He has a pass accuracy of 87% and a 50% shot accuracy, whilst his 20 chances created is only surpassed in the defence by Kieran Gibbs.

Koscielny on the other hand has surprised a lot of people. Once labelled a calamity he has come on this season to prove he is one of the top centre-backs in the country and is now preferred to the club's captain Thomas Vermaelen. In his 25 league appearances he has made an average of seven defensive actions per game, has won 83% of his attempted tackles and 64% of his headers.

So Gunners, sell up or keep hold?

lazy journalism at it's best. 2 seconds of research into what Koscielny actually said and you would see he said he wanted to stay at Arsenal but could in the future look elsewhere if the club don't provide the means to challenge for titles. where in that interview did he say he was leaving? Sagna can do one, Jenkinson was better when used last season anyway

KOSCHIENNY should not allow things to get into his head as he has scored many own goals more than any other arsenal defender and he cost arsenal winning the carling cup final against BIRMINGHAM and he gifted and was culpable for two goals scored by chelseas torres and mata in the premiership this season and he was a nobody before wenger discovered him and he should look well before jumping ship and take experience from FLAMINI HLEB SONG and many others

"I have the desire to add to my list of honours. If this weren't the case, I'd look elsewhere."
    HE'S LEAVING YOU

This makes me sick to be honest. Yes, I can understand the frustration of not getting any silverware, but Koscielny has been given SO many chances from Wenger that I cannot even remember. His performances have been everything between dreadfull to magnificent, making a lot of mistakes, several red cards and scored a number of own goals. We all remember what happened in the Carling Cup final against Birmingham two years ago.

Now, FINALLY, he shows his full potential and has become one of our most important players, hell he was the runner-up for Player of the Season, behind Cazorla, becomming one of the most loved current players at the club. And after all Wenger has done for him, all the oportunities and faith, he "threatens" with leaving the club by next season? So unfair against the club, and Wenger.

I hope this is just fake, we need him, and this is just ridicilous quoting from the likes of Koscielny.
