Bale will not leave Tottenham, Everton eye winger as first signing and Shearer sickened by Newcastle - round up

Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that an agreement with Daniel Levy means Gareth Bale will not be sold this summer, according to the Sun. The Portuguese coach has spoken amidst the heavily rumours liking the Welsh winger with a big money move to Real Madrid but is adamant that he will be staying in north London. AVB told the Sun: “We have the pledge of the chairman that Bale is not going to leave the club.” You can now relax, Spurs fans...

Bale scored 26 goals in total for the Lilywhites last term and has been labelled the next Cristiano Ronaldo.

Turning our heads to Roberto Martinez and his new Everton side, the same paper is reporting that Birmingham City's Nathan Redmond will be the Spaniards first signing at the Toffees. A £3m deal for the 19-year-old will be enough for the Brummies to allow discussions as they look to build a squad ready for promotion from the Championship next season despite their financial difficulties.

A number of clubs are said to be looking at the teenager, but Martinez is said to be in the driving seat, which is probably a strange feeling for him!

Last up it is everyone's *cough* favourite *cough* TV pundit, Alan Shearer. Not only do we have to put up with his mundane opinions on Match of the Day, he is now piping up in the papers about how Newcastle are a laughing stock. You have to respect what Shearer did in the game and his article may even make sense, but it would be nice if he had an atom of the ability as a pundit as he did as a player.
