Could we see Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo together at Real Madrid?

With potential moves hanging over their heads, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo are sought after men and arguably the two best wingers in the game. They're also two players who could end up playing together come next season.

With Ronaldo there’s always a news story waiting to comment on his game, always wanting to speculate on his future, so it will be no surprise this summer he is once again being gossiped about. Whether or not you chose to believe his reported disinterest and deep sadness at Madrid, you have to wonder what will be the outcome of his cries, will he get that move he craves so much back to a club he once so craved to leave or will he wash up on the money shores of Paris, either way his pockets will be deeply lined. Madrid are also desperate to keep their star man, offering him a contract worth over a reported £30 million to keep their want away star from leaving, a lot of money for an “unhappy” player, but when have Real Madrid ever really thought about money?

That brings us onto the next move in Madrid’s plan to finally reclaim Europe, Gareth Bale, whereas getting Ronaldo to commit to such a heft contract would be like a new signing in itself, Bale is reportedly the man Real want as their new Galatico. With Real’s sporting director Zinedine Zidane a huge fan and with his power of persuasion he could get Florentino Perez to part with a huge fee, believed to be around £80-85 million depending on what paper you read.

It’s all well and good flashing your cash when you’re one of the richest clubs in the world, but actually getting Tottenham to part with their star player will be another obstacle. Real have already encountered Daniel Levy’s shrewd and hostile clenches on players, with the whole Modric saga which lasted around two years. This time round though will Levy have the power or bottle to keep his star man, Bale would welcome a move to Madrid and for £80 million, Tottenham would surely have to admit defeat and sell. Or does the infamous Daniel Levy have other plans? And will these two obviously brilliant individuals get to walk out wearing the same shirt?

    1) You talk about Levy's "shrewd and hostile clenches on players like he is some kind of arch-villain. For the record, Luka Modric signed a six year contract with THFC the Summer before he decided he wanted to move to Chelsea. He lft the club that Summer issuing numerous statementsthat h was happy where he ws, and then, out of the blue and without consulting the club who 'actually' held his registration, gavea newspaper article (making it clear that he had been tapped up) that he had decided he was moving to Chelsea. Chelsea then used this to try to drive his price down as far as possible, even though they had been iformed bluntly that no offer whatsoever would be acceptable. There was no 'long drawn out transfer' that Summer - just Chelsea refusing to take no for an answer, Modric doing everything to engineer move without actually asking for one (the poor lad would have lost his 'loyalty' bonus - what a joke) and the media refusig to let it die.
Much the same happened the next Summer - except that Levy was prepared to do business when he received a proper bid. No one forced Modic to sign a six year contract and then try and get out of it immediately.
Levy's attitude was clear throughout. United will not sell to rival clubs - as witness the Gariel Heinze move to Liverpool that Fergie refused to happen. After the disgrace that as United's virtual absconding wth Berbatov, Levy has made it clear that he does not wish to sell any of Spurs' top players to EPL rivals. Why is that so difficult to understand? Why is Levy trying to get the best deals for Spurs an lookafter the clubs interests treated as a mean and villainous thing he s inflictin on his betters? Wh do journalists seem to believe that purs should act like a virtual charity, buying and developing players and then selling them at a profit when their (sposed) betters demand it?

    2) The above poster is right: Bale has stated every time he has been asked (i.e. rabid ournalists soving microphones under his nose and shouting REAL MADRD, REAL MADRID, REAL MADRID, that he is happy where he is, keen to developing his game, and in the right pace to develop his game. When pushed he concedes that at some distant time in the futue he would like to test himself overseas, and thais traslated by the journos that he is pushing for move, or would like to leave, or would "welcome a move". He has said no such thing!

Isn't it about time you arseholes stop writing hypothetical bullshit? Until those asset stripping carpet baggers from Madrid put their money where their greasy mouths are, it's all a lot of hot air and bluster.
What the fuck do you know about the Modric case to make such stupid accusations about Daniel Levy's handling of situation. The little money grabbing Croatian weasel signed a new extended contract with Spurs only to try and stab the club in the back less than a year after the ink had dried on that contract. Under those circumstances, do you or anyone else for that matter think that Daniel Levy should just take it up the rectum without putting up a fight, just lay down and have the player walk all over him all because another club makes eyes at him?
The biggest mistake Bale made was to say that one day in the future he would like to play overseas. The harpies in the press took that as a sign that he wanted out, they couldn't be more wrong. I bet the boy wishes now that he just kept his mouth shut when asked the question. Arseholes like you will continue to write bullshit until the matter is resolved one way or another.
