3 Luis Suarez replacements for Liverpool - statistics and videos

It was revealed today that the man we love to hate, Luis Suarez, will be leaving Liverpool in the summer in search of more money, Champions League football, and a more peaceful environment. It is believed that Real Madrid are in the front seat for the Uruguayan but Bayern Munich and Juventus are also keeping an eye on proceedings. So now that the Reds know the 26-year-old is departing who will be replacing him? Well, here are three candidates.

    Christian Eriksen - Ajax

Liverpool have been linked with Eriksen for a long time now and were believed to be ready to make an offer anyway, but with the likes of Borussia Dortmund searching his signature as an attempt to replace Mario Gotze the battle will be a hard one to win.

It is believed that around £10-15m would be enough for Ajax to let him go, but the 21-year-old will have the final say in where he ends up. He has scored 10 goals in the Eredivisie and another two in cup competitions.

    David Villa - Barcelona

Blaugrana are attempting to rebuild for next summer in order to recapture the Champions League trophy, and with that in mind are willing to let a number of fringe players leave the club. One of those men is Spanish striker David Villa who is fancied with a move to the English topflight.

Liverpool need someone who can put the ball in the back of the net as Suarez's 22 league goals will be sorely missed. Suarez directly contributed to over 39% of the Reds goals last season, while Villa grabbed nine himself in the 27 appearances.

He finished the La Liga season with a 65% shot accuracy - 9% higher than Suarez's, 15 chances created and an 83% pass accuracy.

    Edin Dzeko - Manchester City

This one may be met with a bit of unease by Liverpool fans, but the face that Dzeko has proved himself in the Premier League should be reason enough why Reds should welcome the signing. The big Bosnian forward is on the verge of leaving the club after sitting on the bench for longer that he had liked this campaign, and although the likes of Borussia Dortmund are said to be interested Liverpool would surely have a chance of signing his should they make an offer.

Dzeko did in fact make 32 appearances in the league this season and scored a reasonably 14 goals, especially as only 16 of those games were starts. He has a shot accuracy of 53% and created 32 chances for his teammates.
