Manchester City flop given the green light to leave

Scott Sinclair has been told by Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini that he will be allowed to leave the club when the season comes to an end, ESPN report.

Since the 24-year-old made the switch to the Etihad on deadline day last summer he has made just two league starts and played 69 minutes of football in the Premier League season. Prior to his £6.2m switch, Sinclair had been showing real signs of promise and was a huge factor in Swansea City getting promoted to the Premier League and eventually staying up.

The skillful winger has conceded defeat and after seven months of benchwarming he has been given the go ahead to look for a new club.

During Roberto Mancini's press conference ahead of City's trip to Sinclairs former side Swansea, the Italian said: “Scott is young and he has good quality but this year was difficult for him. It is better if he can have another solution.

“The situation with Sinclair is difficult because I didn’t give him a lot of chances to play. He is very unlucky. It is my fault, not his fault."

It is said that the Liberty Stadium side are interested in bringing him back to Swansea, but they face competition in the shape of Welsh rivals Cardiff City as they embark on the Premier League survival campaign.

Liverpool are also rumoured to be looking into the possibility of a move, but with Stuart Downing and Scott Sinclair on either wing - two of the most joked about players in world football - I am not sure I could take it.
