A closer look at how David Moyes will fare as Manchester United manager

As the countdown to next season begins, one of the biggest questions is how David Moyes will adapt to life in the hot seat at new club Manchester United.

With the greatest respect to Toffee's fans to say it is a step up from his previous post at Everton is something of a vast understatement. The club will make things as easy as possible for the Scotsman, of course, and the transition will most likely be very smooth but Moyes will want to stamp his own mark sooner rather than later.

Which is why it is of no surprise to read reports of Moyes lining up a bid for one of his former players Marouane Fellaini. With a dearth of options in midfield for Manchester United this move makes perfect sense and I'm sure Moyes will ever so slightly twist the arm of Everton's chairman to make the deal possible. Something along the lines of a going away present.

Moyes is a smart manager and he knows what he needs to do in order to augment a championship winning squad. This will be the first of many moves he will make this summer as he moulds the squad into his team which is vital ahead of the new season.

Life after Ferguson with Moyes at the helm will make for intriguing viewing next season but will the club's structure already so secure and everything in place for Moyes to succeed it would take a brave man to bet on the coach faltering.
