Jose Mourinho eyes £25m striker as first Chelsea signing

Calling all Chelsea fans. Come in you Blues. Not only will you have a new manager in the summer in the shape of Jose Mourinho (probably) but you will be sporting a fresh range of talent, and accroding to the Daily Mail the man to spearhead that new squad will be Bayern Munich's Mario Gomez. Exciting, eh?

The Germany international has proved his worth at the very top of the European football stage but an unfortunate injury during the season scuppered his brilliant season. With the arrival of Pep Guardiola in the summer the Bavarians are expected to bolster their attack with Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski sooner rather than later.

Poor Mario, just as he was getting into the swing of things as well.

Gomez cost Bayern nearly £30m when he joined from Stuttgart four years ago and has scored a hat full of goals, 111 to be precise, and is regarded as one of the most deadly players in the box around the continent.

Chelsea fans have seen a new side to Fernando Torres this season after the Spaniard scored 22 goals, although only eight were in the Premier League, but won't be too disappointed should the bosses boot him out of the Stamford Bridge exit in the next few weeks.

I am sure Demba Ba will give him his rendition of Abba's Fernando as he packs his bags.
