Real Madrid ready to offer big bucks for Premier League stars

Real Madrid have revealed that Gonzalo Higuain will leave the club in the summer and that his exit may spark Los Blancos swooping for Tottenham's Gareth Bale and Manchester United's Javier Hernandez.

The Argentina international has gone up against Karim Benzema in a battle for Jose Mourinho's preferred lone striker role this season and has come out second best despite netting on 14 occasions.

Madrid General Manager Jose Angel Sanchez believes that a club with Madrid's stature needs two exceptional forwards, so when 25-year-old Higuain leaves the club in the summer he will need to be replaced by a big name signing or two.

"In a great club like Real, we believe we need two number nines of a high level," Sanchez said.

"We have Benzema and Higuain. Higuain will leave, Benzema will stay and two others will come."

Gareth Bale has been a long term target for the Spanish giants and after cleaning up at the end of season awards this past fortnight it is expected that a move will transpire in the coming months. Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane has this week stated that no matter what price tag Spurs put on the winger the club will pay it, acting as a real statement of intent.

Option B is Manchester United's out of favour Mexican Javier Hernandez. The 24-year-old has scored eight goals in 19 games this season and has proved to be one of the most natural finishers in European football, but with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck all fighting for the forward berths the Little Pea is set to look elsewhere.
