Premier League clubs set to battle it out for Czech striker's signature

Watford take on Crystal Palace at Wembley this month with the winner taking their place in the Premier League next season. The pressure is on both London sides to win the big money game, but there is another capital club lurking in the shadows should the Hornets lose out on promotion.

Tottenham are said to be interested in securing the services of Matej Vydra, but face competition from Fulham, Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers, according to the London Evening Standard. Well perhaps not the latter, but the Czech forward may stay with parent club Udinese as they are reluctant to sell.

I imagine that Vydra is currently sat at home with his feet up chuckling to himself over an expensive bottle of champagne knowing that he will be rolling in it whatever happens in the final.

He has scored 22 goals this season, including two in the semi-final win over Leicester to get his team to the play-off final, and as he is still only 21 he has plenty of time on his side.

It is said that any deal securing Vydra's signature would have to be well over the £5m that some are suggesting but Spurs are desperate to add to their firepower up top with Emmanuel Adebayor being about as reliable as London transport.
