Arsenal looking to offer £25m for Premier League striker

Arsene Wenger has had enough of people laughing at him. He has had enough of people writing his team off as nothing but a top five club and wont challenge for the title until the Frenchman leaves and there is a reshuffle at the club. He has had enough of people mocking his players such as Gervinho and not turning up to games. He has had enough.

Okay, granted the second half of the season has been an impressive one for the gunners and they still have the chance to steal third place. But the drama in the early stages when they struggled to win a game turned the whole of north London to want Wenger's head on a plate.

The wily old coach is now set to show those doubters by signing Wayne Rooney for a hefty sum of £27m, if the Daily Star is to be believed.

The 27-year-old has been whinging for a while now that he wants to exit Old Trafford again and the arrival of David Moyes only reassured his desire to leave, but with few clubs willing to splash the cash for his services it has gone quiet in that regard.

Chelsea have supposedly raised an eyebrow, so to have Bayern Munich, but his £200,000-a-week wages could cause a problem for any side coming in for him.

Never mind Arsene, you still have Niklas Bendtener coming home this summer *snigger*
