    Suárez wanted by Bayern Munich

Champions League semi-finalists Bayern Munich are expected to make a move for Liverpool's Luis Suárez with the Germans increasingly resigned to missing out on Robert Lewandowski to Manchester United.

United seemed to have moved to the front of the queue to get the signature of Lewandowski, who scored four goals in in Borussia Dortmund’s 4-1 Champions League semi-final first leg victory over Real Madrid.

If United sign the 24 year-old in the summer it will raise serious questions over Wayne Rooney's future at the club although the United manager has already stated that he intends to offer the striker, who has two years left on his current contract, a new deal.

If Bayern do miss out on the Polish international they are set to turn their attentions to the capture of the red's troublesome Uruguayan.

Liverpool have insisted that Suarez, 26, will not leave the club this summer, despite him being hit with a 10-game suspension for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

It would be a huge risk on Liverpool's part to let their leading scorer leave as players like him don't come around too often.

Guardiola has made no secret of his admiration of Suárez, who is represented by Pere Guardiola, the former Barcelona coach’s brother.

Manchester City also retain an interest in Suárez, but the player’s reputation could trouble the club’s image-conscious Abu Dhabi ownership.

That said, City need a player like Suarez in their ranks to challenge United for the title again next season. United and Robin Van Persie have shown what a difference a proven Premier League goalscorer can make to your team.

Juventus are also said to be monitoring his situation.
