    Dynamite Danny Rose

Whilst all the talk around the Stadium of Light focuses on a new arrival in particular a certain Italian import that is making a difference on wear side. I want to talk about someone who has been ever present this season and is from a little bit closer to home, on loan full back Danny Rose.

The left back has been consistently impressive and Sunderland will surely want to make his signing a permanent one at the end of the season. Danny rose was born and raised in Yorkshire and came through the youth ranks at Leeds before making a £1 million pounds move to the capital and Tottenham Hotspur in 2007.

It’s never really worked out for Rose at Spurs though he has spent several seasons on loan at Championship clubs and despite enjoying a brief spell in the Tottenham first team he has never really made the left back spot his own.

At the start of the season it was announced that Rose would join Sunderland on loan and he has really shone this season. He has consistently put in impressive performances packed full of energy and has shown real technical ability on the ball.

His appearance in the 1-0 victory over Everton epitomised a typical Danny Rose performance. The left back was rock solid at the back showing terrific positional sense and good strong tackling to snuff out any Everton Danger down the right hand side.

One thing that is particularly impressive about the 22 year old is his acceleration, when he needs to he can really motor and he continually outpaced Everton attackers when the ball was played in behind something which he also did well at St James’s Park last weekend too.

Another stand out attribute of the full back is his energy levels, he kept going all game making quick burst up field to support attacks when his side were on the front foot whilst still having the stamina to return to his position.

His desire to win the ball must also be applauded one incident which shown this was as he took a heavy touch going forward it looked like he was to lose the ball to an Everton player before stretching to keep hold of it in a strong challenge before firing in a clean strike on goal.

The introduction of Paulo Di Canio seems to have done the trick with two wins from two putting Sunderland closer to safety, one thing is for sure if they are safe they should definitely be looking at Danny Rose as a possible permanent signing.

He has made the left back spot his own this year, becoming a fan favourite at Stadium of Light and it would be a waste to let him go back to sitting on the bench at Spurs. It would be a surprise if Sunderland aren’t willing pursue his signature permanently.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto is leaving, we're gonna need Danny boy back. Sorry

Sorry mate but it would be a waste of time trying to sign Rose .As a spurs supporter i can tell you he will be playing for spurs in the first team next year.we sent him out to Sunderland to get premiership experience and it was always a win win situation for us. he has impressed at Sunderland and now he will be back at spurs.BAE will be leaving spurs at the end of the season by all accounts and Daniel Levy will not go out and buy a full back when we already have one in rose.He is everything spurs need in a full back and if he wasn't already our player spurs would probably think about buying him but he is our player and will remain our player for sometime to come.

Oi BLUNDERLAND - you can take Benny Ekotto, Danny "That Goal" Rose will be back at WHL next season and will get a huge reception from the home fans, the kids already a legend and as you have pointed out in your article has all the characteristics to play the AVB high line, pace, awareness, ability to go forward and get back quickly, so although it's nice reading your article, it's totally unrealistic for you to assume he will be playing ball at Blunderland when quite clearly he'll be a yid

I'm quite surprised and very happy he's done well at Roker Park (whoops!). I was worried that he lacked technique - his control and passing not good enough for a Spurs player. But, by all accounts, that impression is wrong and if he can improve his touch and composure he could be a great player for Spurs next season, if Benny heads south. Danny has pace and desire in abundance but those other qualities are essential - really hope he gets there. Look at Benny next time he casually beats two attackers with an impudent swagger and chips into Bale's path. That's the standard.

Pleased Sunderland are staying up - please lose at the Lane last day, no heroics boys, who wants same old top 4?
