Marquee Signings

The marquee signing to any club is a great opportunity to exploit their skills and experience and share with team-mates as we have 3 marquees in question for the Australian A League.

Alessandro Del Piero, former captain of Juventus signed a $2mil AUD contract to play for Sydney FC in which it boosted memberships through the roof and crowd attendance increased dramatically. Il Pinturricchio has been the main go-to man for the Sydney club as he had scored 14 times claimng the golden boot award for 2012-2013 season and also captured the Player of the year award also. The sky-blues failed to make the finals as they were beaten by Perth Glory to knock them out of contention for a place in the penultimate stages.

Shinji Ono another international star for Japan also made a big impact signing for rival club Western Sydney Wanderers in which he scored on 7 occasions and made 23 appearances in the domestic league season of A-league.

Emile Heskey, the English international put pen to paer for the Newcastle Jets and bagged 9 goals and made 23 appearances for the Newcastle side.

The impact these marquees had on the Australian game was massive as they brought their skills and experiences to the Hyundai A League.
