    The Championship relegation scrap

Ipswich Town continued their push towards safety with a 1-0 victory at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon. With the teams below them also winning, this was a vital three points for a side that are edging ever closer to safety.

Life is never easy when your team is involved in a relegation battle. When that battle is taking place at the bottom of the Championship it is, in my opinion, even worse.

The Championship is one of the most unpredictable leagues on offer, with every team being capable of taking points off of each other. This obviously comes with a positive and negative effect with your team being able to take points from everyone and the negative of the teams below you being able to do the same.

My point of view comes from Ipswich Town, who continued their push towards safety, putting in a decent performance to beat Bolton 1-0 today. The three points gained today were massive with the teams below us picking up unlikely points, the most surprising of which came from Barnsley who beat promotion chasing Watford 1-0 at home.

With eight games left, it remains to be seen how the bottom three will look but with as many of eight teams still involved it will be a nervous time for supporters like myself hoping their team doesn’t lose their Championship status.
