    Spurs should sanction Kaboul loan

With reports suggesting that Tottenham Hotspur have rejected a loan offer from Anzhi Makhachkala for defender Younes Kaboul, it has made fans wonder about whether the club should have rejected the move.

The Frenchman has been forced to sit out a majority of the season, making just on Premier League appearance on the opening day of the season following a knee injury which was, initially, supposed to keep him sidelined until November.

However, it's only recently that Kaboul has returned to training such have been the setbacks for the defender, with the 27-year-old a little over a week away from full fitness. Nevertheless, with a fully fit defence currently performing admirably in Spurs' quest for a top four finish, it remains to be seen where the form Auxerre man will play his part in the remainder of the season.

With the need for match fitness of vital importance, a short term move to Anzhi could well have benefited both the player and club. The big spending Russian side need a new centre-back following the departure of Christopher Samba to QPR and with Kaboul and the Congolese powerhouse sharing a similar physical build, it would be an almost like for like replacement.

There is the risk that injuries could rack up and see Kaboul thrust into first team action between now and the end of the season, but allowing him to garner some experience before the new campaign will surely see the defender ready for next season.

Garner some experience? He's a full French International! What experience could he possibly need. This talk of loans and sales of our most talented CB is nonsense.

kaboul is arguably our best defender, why on earth would we loan him out???

loan out our best defender that makes great sense on our push for forth spot.

It's pretty much unanimous amongst fans that Kaboul is our best defender. I can only assume those who are paid to write about football don't watch it much as they give credence to the idea that we'd ever let him go again! Why not send Bale over there too, he can get his confidence up in Russia ahead of next season!?

proberably our best defeder last season,we paid dearly for letting people go .

Couldn't disagree more with this articles, reiterating what everyone has said, why would we loan out not only our best defender, but one of our most important players. I also disagree that our defence has been 'performing admirably'. We could caught behind too often, most recently against West Ham and again in the West Ham game, the centre backs barely won a header. Kaboul's speed, strength and aerial prowess will be invaluable in our run in.

Whoever wrote this is an absolute idiot and really doesnt know anything about football, Spurs or what kind of player Kaboul is. I am really dumbfounded that such an idiotic story has been thought up let alone put up on a website. Kaboul can pretty much walk into most defenses in the Premier League so why would we send him on loan just as he is coming back to fitness? I cant say enough bad things about whoever wrote this load of crap.
