Laudrup should remain with Swansea City

It's funny how things can change in football. 13 years ago, Swansea City were defeating Chester City 2-1 in the old Division Three while Bradford City were in the Premier League. Now, on the Sunday just gone, the Swans were overcoming the Bantams 5-0 at Wembley to become Capital One Cup winners, with the former in England's top tier and the latter part of League 2.

Unsurprisingly, Swansea manager Michael Laudrup has earned the plaudits for their win, with the south Wales side absolutely obliterating the opposition from the first minute to the last. As such, coupled with his exploits in the league, the Dane has been linked with a move away from the Liberty Stadium, less than a year after taking over the reins from the departing Brendan Rodgers.

It is no shock, it has to be said. Swansea have been playing some scintillating football at times and Sunday was no exception. However, as great as the urge may be to take over at the helm of a big named club, should they come asking, Laudrup should turn down the urge to leave the club.

He has the opportunity to really take the club to the next level, especially with a European campaign to embark upon. Furthermore, the former Denmark international has the chance to create somewhat of an empire at the Liberty, which will see him go down in folklore with the fans and the club.

He will see his contract out. Another year. Definitely. Europe awaits the slick, stylish Swans :-)
