Player Report: Do Manchester United Need Winger With 7 Goals In 7 Games?

Manchester United face up against Real Sociedad this evening in what promises to be an exciting game, as the La Liga side sit bottom of their group table. However, there may be an ulterior motive for the United chiefs when they travel to Spain as the Metro are reporting that the Red Devils are interesting in purchasing one of their opponent's players - Antoine Griezmann.

    But who is he?

The 22-year-old Frenchman is an attacking player who is primarily a left winger, but he can also play on the right and as a central striker. Although Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez will argue that the club probably don't need another frontman, some fans have been concerned about the wing play in recent weeks, myself included.

Griezmann has come through the ranks at the Spanish club and impressed with his speed, his tricks and his accuracy in the cross, but also with the confidence that he holds for such a young player.

So far this season he has scored seven goals in his 10 league appearances while also making seven key passes. He holds a shot accuracy of 63% and has also won 15/21 of his tackles, showing that he's not afraid to get his hands dirty.

While some will no doubt argue that Moyes has enough options to work with at present, there is no denying the talent that Griezmann holds, and there may be some begging for the United chiefs to get a deal done should he turn in an impressive performance against the club tonight.
