Why Shinji Kagawa Should Leave Manchester United

While Manchester United have suffered what some consider a poor start to the season, a lot of the talk has been about the situation regarding Shinji Kagawa. While David Moyes continues to leave him on the sidelines, spectators across the nation have started venting their frustrations about how the Japan international should be more involved with proceedings. But now, as ESPN report that the 24-year-old is ready to pack his bag and head out of the Old Trafford exits, here is why Manchester United can't let him go.

While Robin van Persie leads the line and Wayne Rooney sits just behind, there is no evident creative spark in the United midfield. Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini are two in the central areas who pick apart opponents and knock the ball about the pitch, while Tom Cleverley buzzes around and gets into the faces of the opposition.

There is a gap in the market for a creative outlet that connects the midfield to the attack and that's where Kagawa comes in. Last season he carved 19 chances for his team-mates and scored six goals in only 20 bit-part appearances, despite being played in a wider role.

Kagawa is exactly what United need right now, in my opinion, and it seems a travesty that he's not a key member of the side, and if United can't see that - or ultimately don't want that - then if a move away will get the best out of him I hope to god that he gets it.
