Wenger Says He's Under No Pressure To Sign Striker - Here's Why I Disagree

Arsene Wenger has come out and told us - via Sky Sports - that he doesn't feel the pressure to sign a new striker in January, but I, and most other Arsenal fans, completely disagree with that notion. Here's why.

Olivier Giroud is having a fine season, don't get me wrong, but it's virtually impossible for a team to rely on one striker all season and expect him to continue fine form. The Frenchman scored a goal in each of his first four Premier League games but has since looked tired and his goals have dried up. In his next seven league games he has scored just once and Arsene Wenger has been forced to introduce Nicklas Bendtner in the latter stages of games to replace him.

Theo Walcott is a winger, in my eyes, may I add.

We know Wenger has money to spend in January, and if he shouldn't be able to land a forward like in the summer then there could be disastrous consequences.

They have midfielders who can scored goals, yes, but without another striker they will no doubt burn out Giroud's legs and be devoid a man to lead the line.

A new man up top would provide fresh legs, a fresh outlook and could really spruce up the Arsenal frontline, and ultimately stand them in better stead for their title challenge.

Wenger, you do need a striker, sir.
