Derby Day Opinion: Why Liverpool Frontline Will Prove Too Much For Everton

Liverpool currently sit second in the Premier League after 11 games and are looking as though they are in with a shout for silverware. However, this weekend they are up against their local rivals Everton in what could be the defining fixture in the schedule. Everton are flying high themselves this season, losing just once in their opening 11 games under Roberto Martinez and could climb above Brendan Rodgers' men at the weekend - although they would have to overturn a significant goal difference.

However, for me my money will be going on the Reds to come out on top, simply because of the form of two people - Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.

The former has returned from his suspension this season to score eight goals in six games, which is quite a remarkable feat. His strike partner Sturridge has the same amount of goals in his 11 appearances, and the two are forming an extraordinary partnership at Anfield.

Their link up play is alluring to watch. When one slips a pass through the opposition defence you know full well that the other will be rushing onto it.

They will be up against Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka who have stood strong this season but are both prone to mistakes up against the smaller, nippier forwards and I think the newly-former SAS will have too much for the backline.
