Analysis: How Joe Hart Proved His Critics Wrong Against Germany

Joe Hart has been the talk of the town of late as his mistakes have finally cost him his place for both club and country. He has found Fraser Forster in his way between the sticks for England and Costel Pantilimon at Manchester City, but he was reinstated for his country for the visit of Germany.

Roy Hodgson's men ran out 1-0 losers from the clash, but Hart had a really positive game. He pulled off a string of instinctive saves to deny the Germans before Per Mertesacker headed past him and followed them up with a clean, commanding performance.

He had 35 touches of the ball, one more than Germany keeper Roman Weidenfeller, and completed 64% of his passes which is way up on his average for City this season.

Hart looked far from the shaky player that we grew accustomed to over the last few weeks and impressed thoroughly with his influence from the back.

He is often at his weakest when teams are throwing balls into the box or striking the ball from distance, but he dealt with everything that Joachim Low's men offered last night.

For me, Hart is far and away the best English goalkeeper and I am glad that he put in a solid display at Wembley.
