Do Arsenal Have A Finger On The Premier League Trophy After Liverpool Win?

The fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool this evening was billed as one of the most exciting of the Premier League so far this season and it lived up to the anticipation. Arsenal ripped through Brendan Rodgers' men with relative ease in front of their own fans and opened up a five point gap at the top of the table after their 2-0 win.

Goals from Santi Cazorla and Aaron Ramsey have further sparked excitement in the north of London regarding the Gunners' chances of silverware  this term, and in my opinion rightly so.

While Per Mertesacker bossed the back line and Olivier Giroud spearheaded the side brilliantly, the blend throughout the team was incredible to watch. Mikel Arteta was at the heart of the action with Mathieu Flamini out of the frame and the Spaniard completed 100 passes from his 106 attempted, which is pretty special.

The tireless work-rate from all 11 players is something that we have seen all season and they are proving that they are the real deal. As well as that, they also have the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lukas Podolski, Abou Diaby and the aforementioned Flamini to come back from injury.

They have the squad, they have the form and the mentality that they have been missing for so long, and ultimately they have a manager who has an experience of winning major trophies.

It is a long, long season and there is still the vast majority of it to come, but for me it looks as though the Gunners have all the ingredients that is needed for a title winning cocktail and have a finger firmly clamped onto the trophy.
