Why Chelsea Should Get Rid Of Striker Who Has Won Just 42% Of His Headers

Jose Mourinho has come under some scrutiny since he returned as Chelsea boss. From his team selections to his tactics, the Special One was the Stressy One when he stormed out of a press conference recently after being questioned on his player selection.

Their form has been steady, however, and the Blues currently third, just two points behind joint leaders Arsenal and Liverpool.

But there is one thing annoying me about the west London club, and that's the Spaniard that's leading their line, Fernando Torres.

He's one of the most consistent forwards in the Premier League, but by being consistently useless. The former Liverpool man has frsutrated me to the point where I've pulled my hair out, and his childish behaviour at Tottenham recently was the final straw on my 10 year season ticket's back.

His attempted gauge on Spurs defender Jan Vertoghen should have seen him sent off, but as a Blues fan, home and away, I stayed quiet and accepted the decision. But he deservedly picked up another booking and was inevitably sent off, which I accept.

But it's his performances on the ball that has me fuming. He looked lively in parts during the London derby, but he can't inspire a frontline, nor can he seem to score goals. It has been six Premier League games now this season where he has featured, and he is yet to hit the back of the net or claim an assist.

He has won just 43% of his duels, which includes a measly 10/24 (42%) header success, 3/7 of his take ons being won and an embarrassing 65% pass accuracy.

His movement looks sluggish, his touch looks off and he offers us almost nothing up front. I think I'd rather have Demba Ba up top, and that's saying something.
