5 young players that have impressed in the Premier League this season

Every season a new generation ofplayers come out of the woodwork and show their potential and this year is new different.

Robbie Brady - Hull City - 21 years old - Left Midfield

Robbie Brady has shone in Hull City’s return to the Premier League. The former Manchester United player had spent the 2011/12 season on loan as well as half of the 2012/13 season before Hull decided to make the move permanent in January.

The switch proved inspired as he helped them towards promotion and has played a big part in their impressive start to this season. In six games he has three goals as well as creating five chances. In those six games he has been awarded the man of the match award twice and has an 80% success rate with his passing.

The winger has an excellent left foot and floats around popping up all over the field. If Brady continues this fine form then it wouldn’t be a surprise for some of the big boys to be sniffing after him.

Ross Barkley - Everton - 19 years old - Centre Midfield

Most football fans will know exactly who Ross Barkley is. After making an impressive debut against QPR two seasons ago many expected him to flourish as Wayne Rooney did a few years before, but an average season out on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds may have left a few fans forgetting about him.

Worry not, for he has started this season showing all the promise everyone thought he had. Two goals in six appearances and eight chances created led to an England call up and he made his debut in the qualifier against Moldova. There had been rumours previously that the big boys were after Barkley and after his impressive early season form expect these to re-surface.

    Luke Shaw - Southampton - 18 years old - Left-Back

Luke Shaw has become a regular in the Southampton line up after becoming another successful product of the Southampton youth system - 25 appearances last season at just 17 highlights the potential the youngster has.

So far this season he has committed just two fouls which is impressive considering he is a full back. His performances have earned him a place in the under 21’s and rumours of Arsenal, Man United and Chelsea all after the youngster may not be too far off the mark.

Aaron Ramsey - Arsenal - 22 years old - Centre Midfield

Yes, Aaron Ramsey has been around for a while. But at 22 years old he is still relatively young and boy has he excelled this season. After a couple of frustrating seasons after his horrific leg break, Ramsey has finally showed the potential that everyone knew that he had.

Six games, four goals, two assists and five chances created have highlighted his importance in Arsenal’s strong start to the season. A winner of three man of the match awards as well and good performances for Wales, despite the team around him disappointing, has further shown his improvement this season.

    Ben Davies - Swansea - 20 years old - Left-Back

Ben Davies is another full back who has excelled this season. After gaining an opportunity through Neil Taylor’s unfortunate injury, Davies has made the left back position his own, not just for Swansea but for Wales as well.

Six games has given two goals and five chances created as well. His attacking ability is something that manager Michael Laudrup will love but his defensive abilities are also very good successfully making 13 out of 14 tackles. He is ever improving and Neil Taylor is going to struggle to regain his place for club and country.
