3 Reasons Why Chelsea Should Look To Sign Jermain Defoe

When Jose Mourinho offloaded Romelu Lukaku to Everton for a year it was difficult for some to understand. Now, with just Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto'o up top - both of whom are far past their best, and Demba Ba - who was never any good, here are three reasons why the Special One should swoop for Jermain Defoe in January.

    1) Cheap

Spurs are frustrating the England international as they continue to deploy their new man Roberto Soldado as their lone striker. Defoe has been sitting down the pecking order since the summer and even had to share his playing time with Emmanuel Adebayor last term.

Should the little forward go and speak to Andre Villas-Boas I'm sure he wouldn't stop Defoe leaving - as long as he had a replacement - and the board would probably be willing to accept a reasonable fee for him.

    2) Quick

Unlike Torres, Eto'o and Ba, Defoe is incredibly nimble of his feet and explosive with his pace. He works off the shoulder and drags opponents away from their position. Defoe would be exactly the player Mourinho needs to perform his counter-attacking style.

    3) Londoner

Defoe seems to excel in the capital. His stints with the likes of West Ham and Spurs have been successful ones, and he seems comfortable in London.

Lol, why would Defoe leave Tottenham where he gets little game time to go to Chelsea where he will get even less game time. Stupid article, it's not just up to a club to decide who they want to buy, the player also wants to go too. Defoe would excel in a team like West Ham - like he did - because he would be first choice striker, not third choice.

    What a manager you'd make.

Cheap and from London. Sounds like a plan.

But it's not in line with chavskis normal policy for strikers of expensive and useless and classless
