Arsenal and Chelsea could fight over La Liga striker with 4 goals in 9 games - the statistics

I am not alone when it comes to my thoughts on Jose Mourinho and his decision to let Romelu Lukaku join Everton for the season. The big Belgium international had the ball in the net four times in the first half in the Toffees' win over Newcaslte on Monday night, although two of them were ruled out, while Chelsea are left with Fernando Torres, Samuel Eto'o and Demba Ba up top. However, Mourinho seems to have realised that he needs a natural goal-scorer to add steel to the Blues' title push, and The Daily Star are suggesting that man is Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema.

However, if the west London side want to secure a deal for the France international, they will have to battle it out with fellow capital club Arsenal.

At 25, Benzema is nearing the prime of his career, but he's having a tough time at the Santiago Bernabeu of late, and the fans are getting on his back. At Madrid, fans take to players who work hard and put their bodies on the line for the crest on the shirt. Benzema is not one of them. Rather than chase lost causes, the former Lyon man focuses his energy into positioning himself and creating pockets of space.

He has scored two goals in seven La Liga appearances as well as two in two in the Champions League, but his future is still unclear.

He has also created eight chances in the Spanish topflight and won 45% of his duels, but more often than not has been subbed off in a game.

With the amount of chances created at the Emirates you'd think that it would be a perfect match for him, especially with the French connection already at the club.
