3 players to fire Arsenal to the title

With Arsenal producing the strongest start to the season and also the biggest signing of the transfer window as well, the Gunners fans will be daring to dream about a first Premier League title in a decade. But what three players will give them the edge as the season goes on? Which three would persuade you to use your bwin bonus to back the gunners to be Champions?

    Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey’s form has been a pleasant surprise, not only for Arsenal fans but for Welsh fans as well. Four goals in seven league games has helped propel Arsenal to the top of the table. Two assists have also shown his ability to set his team mates up and his rediscovered form has even pushed Wilshere out to the left wing (and even to smoking…okay, not really). As a former 1500m runner, he has phenomenal stamina managing to roam all over the pitch, popping up left, right and centre. His passing, so often astray last year, has been top draw this season, highlighted this international break with a pass to Bellamy to partly set up the Wales win against Macedonia. His confidence is also showing with the showboating tricks accompanying his game and his finishing has come on leaps and bounds, as the late equaliser against Belgium on Tuesday night showed. If he can sustain this form then Wilshere may be playing out of position a lot more, bad for England, but will ultimately prove fruitful for Arsenal.

    Mesut Ozil

It comes as no surprise that I would put Ozil on this list - any side with his quality would be far better off than without him and Arsenal clearly are. In his four games he has created eleven chances for his team. If he, alone, is creating nearly three a game every game then you feel that Arsenal should score at least one. Whilst everyone felt that Arsenal should’ve spent the money on more defensive options one player who also came in (who I will mention later in a bit) has helped with that side of it leaving the likes of Ozil, Cazorla and Ramsey to roam free. Olivier Giroud has also benefitted from this, himself scoring four league goals and if he can keep the connection with the three behind him, he and Ozil could be looking at major honours at the end of the season.

    Mathieu Flamini

In all fairness there isn’t a lot to say about this man. He tackles, he passes, he tackles, he passes over and over again. A 93% average pass completion rate is very good and he cannot be underestimated in his role of getting the ball to men ahead of him. At the end of the season nobody will recognise his worth to the team but without him Arsenal would be getting bullied just as they were last season. Mikel Arteta played his role last year, but whilst Arteta is a very astute passer, his ability to break up the game is not quite as good. Flamini, like Makelele at Chelsea before him, will not be up for any player of the year awards, but he will be just as important as Ozil or Ramsey.
