3 light-hearted reasons why Peter Schmeichel shouldn't get the Sheffield United job

The Mirror are suggesting that former Manchester United keeper Peter Schmeichel wants the vacant Sheffield United job. Here are three light-hearted reasons why he shouldn't get it.

    1) Boring

The big Dane is one of my least favourite pundits on television right now. In fact, he pops up on Match of the Day or the like I hastily change the channel to save me from listening.

Imagine this. You're in the scrap of your life to try and save your League One status as a club. A club who has roamed the Premier League in recent times and now are staring into the abyss with a real chance of slipping into League Two. What you need is a man with fire in his belly. A man who is going to come into the club and kick everyone in the backside. Then Peter Schmeichel strolls in with his jolly red nose and starts talking with his slow, monotone voice about his own career.

    Thrilling.

    2) No Experience

As well as having next to no personality, he has no experience in coaching. Okay he spent years at the top with Manchester United and he's done his badges, but he is yet to cut his teeth at a club.

    3) Manchester United are running low on youth

The common trend is for former Manchester United players, or those who have affiliations with the club to just rob Old Trafford of their youth players. Mark Hughes has done it, Steve Bruce has done it and Darren Ferguson has done it.

Sheffield should look for someone with ties to a different club.
