Will QPR's victory over Chelsea ignite their revival?

Not many people predicted a victory for Harry Redknapp's men when they travelled to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night, but that is exactly what they got and it was former Chelsea player Sean Wright-Phillips who scored the only goal in the narrow 1-0 win for the R's.

Despite Chelsea dominating the game from start to finish and producing 28 shots at Julio Cesar's goal the Blues' were unable to break down an unusually compact and resistant QPR defence, and Harry Redknapp later claimed that the win was his greatest result in football management.

The triumph sparks the question, is this the victory that creates the spring-board for QPR to climb away from the drop zone?

Well, if you are going off this result alone, then probably not. From the 28 attempts that Chelsea mustered, 12 of them were blocked by a QPR player, whilst 13 of them were off-target, something that the Hoops will be lucky to see out again this season.

With the amounts of talent they have in their squad it is hard to pinpoint why their form this season has been so pathetic, but the stats don't lie and with just 2 wins from 21 league games, Harry has his work cut out to get the best from his players and retain the club's status as a Premier League side.

The one thing we can be sure of is that the morale will be soaring around Loftus Road until their next fixture, their FA Cup third round game against West Brom, and Harry Redknapp and the fans will be in full belief that they have enough quality to beat the drop.
