Transfer rumours about to grind to Holt

Big news in Norfolk today, as Grant Holt has agreed a new three year deal with Norwich City. The story probably won't generated an awful lot lot of interest outside of East Anglia, but to fans of the Canaries it will probably mean an awful lot.

Holt, 31, scored 17 goals for the Carrow Road outfit last season but handed in a transfer request in May following a disagreement with the club about a new deal.

The club captain, the Cumbrian has been the clubs top scorer in every season since he joined in 2009 when they were in League 1.

70 goals in 130 appearances have seen the number 9 become a fans favourite and the news that he has agreed to sign a new deal will be a boost to Chris Hughton and Canaries supporters as they look to try and build on an impressive showing in their return to the top flight last season.

What does this mean for the East Anglian's, they retain the focal point of their attack as new players are brought in as they seek to adapt to a new way of doing things.

Likewise, the retention of Holt signals that Norwich are serious about progression in the Premiership, notwithstanding the fact that the former Shrewsbury man will help to supply much needed experience in the dressing room.

The previous dispute with the club's hierarchy would appear to have been forgotten, something that will please all parties. It could be a successful season for Chris Hughton, his high scoring target man, and the team.

Your Suarez article is the worst piece of "journalism" I've ever read. You should get a new job as reporting isn't for you.
