Football Friends Euro 2012 Predictions (#WrightorWrong)

    Portugal vs The Netherlands

Dan Whiteway- Portugal 2-2 Netherlands Despite the four goals predicted, this will not be a classic of a game. A scrappy affair (albeit not one like their infamous encounter in the 2006 World Cup) will ensue as both sides claw tooth and nail for the result they both need. The Dutch are too frail defensively to keep out the Portuguese and vice versa but a draw will be enough to send the Portuguese through at the expense of the Danish.

George Powell- Portugal 1-2 The Netherlands. The Oranje absolutely have to get a win out of this game, and I have the sneaking suspicion that they will. Although the attacking talents of Ronaldo and Nani are something to behold, if Van Bommel can stop the Portuguese midfield trio supplying them then I fancy that Robben, Sneijder, Van Persie and co can cause them all sorts of problems. Pereira at right back for Portugal looks particularly suspect. Although if my other prediction comes to pass as well, then Portugal will progress.

Brad Smith - Portugal 1-3 Netherlands. The Dutch will finally turn up in the Euros to preserve their status as one of the favourites, and they will sneak through and you can get a massive 6/1 on that happening. Robben and Huntelaar will shine, and my bet of the day is Dutch to be winning at HT @ 21/10. Massive. This is the game to watch if you want goals, goals, goals.

Scott Balaam- Portugal 0-3 Netherlands. The Dutch need to win, and win they will BUT I have a feeling the the other game will finish a draw and see the Orange army go out. Rafael van deer Vaart and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar are expected to start, and the latter will score if he starts.

Ben McAleer - Portugal 1-3 Netherlands Both teams need to win, but with Portugal shaky defensively, as evidenced in the 3-2 win over Denmark, can't see further than a Dutch win. With Huntelaar, rightfully, expected to start, he will be the main threat to the Portuguese back four. Can see Ronaldo finally breaking his Euro 2012 duck, but it won't be enough to see them through.

Paul Hill- Portugal 2-2 Netherlands. The Oranje may finally get the hint tonight and realise that playing two defensive midfielders is counter-intuitive. Instead they should go all out attack and will probably take an early lead. However, Portugal have their own fish to fry, and have the attacking prowess to make the most of the weak Dutch back-line.

    Denmark vs Germany

Dan Whiteway- Denmark 1-1 Germany A draw here will do the Germans just fine so they'll be in no rush to push too hard for the win. The Danes have been strong tactically all tournament and will continue to do so here but scraping a win to see them through the next round without help from elsewhere will be too much of an ask.

George Powell-  Denmark 0-2 Germany. Denmark have been good at this tournament, but a match against an in form Germany is going to be too much for them. Germany will want to win so they can remain at their current base and have an extra days preparation for the quarter final. Muller, Podolski and Gomez will have just too much for the plucky Danes.

Brad Smith - Denmark 0-2 Germany.  The Germans have shown what they are about already, and I can see this being a tight game that the Germans will sneak by 1 or 2-0. Gomez will no doubt be looking to add to his tally already, and although the Danes shocked Netherlands in the first game, there will certainly be no repeat here.

Scott Balaam- Denmark 1-1 Germany. Had Germany already qualified they may have rested Mario Gomez, but as they could still technically go out I expect him to play and once again find the back of the net. it will be interesting to see if his form leads to any EPL clubs making a move for him.

Ben McAleer - Denmark 1-1 Germany Germany need to avoid defeat tonight to guarantee top spot and fans are of the opinion that Joachim Low is likely to ring the changes to keep his team fresh for the quarter finals, should they make it. Denmark have shown exceptional resilience thus far and they will need the same again tonight to secure that much needed point. Eriksen has failed to live up to expectations, but will be a handful again for the German back four.

Paul Hill- Denmark 1-2 Germany. The Germans are not definitely through just yet, so I fully expect another professional performance from them. They are beginning to show why everyone tipped them at the beginning of the tournament and in Mario Gomez, have a forward bang in form at just the right time. He managed to find the net 3 times already despite only have possession of the ball for 23 seconds in total!
