Paris is fast becoming the new Italy.

With Carlo Ancelotti now at the helm of PSG, the newly super-rich club are fast becoming a highly Italian outfit.

Milan legend Paolo Maldini is set to become the most recent figure moving away from ‘the boot’ and into the French capital, with the ex-defender likely to be given the assistant manager role.

Thiago Motta is currently holding the Ligue 1 club’s midfield together, whilst Salvatore Sirigu maintains the number 1 jersey.

The Azzuri left-back Federico Balzeretti is another that is almost certain to make the move to France in the summer, as is cultured playmaker Ricardo Montolivo.

Even the personnel being recruited that are not of Italian heritage have links to 'Bel Paese' in the form of director of football Leonardo and star playmaker Javier Pastore. Both spent a number of years in the Mediterranean country and speak the mother tongue.

With Paris not really having a footballing heritage to contend with (it barely had a significant professional side until the 1970s), the new people at the helm have free reign to shape the club how they wish, and they seem to be going down the Italian route.
